Well I don't always have a place to hide
but I don't need one now
'cause the worst is behind.
I can tell myself I never lied
but we both know that's irony disguised.
I know myself, I get tongue-tied
I'm a nervous man
and that hurts sometimes.
I don't always know what's deep inside
if I knew back then
what I couldn't know now I'd be

out of the woods tonight
I'd be wiser without any fight.
Ain't no vision that can't be changed,
ain't no conversation can't be rearranged
and I won't stop until I reach the sky...

I get excited, it's a source of pride
when I finally find the words to supply.
I always figured that if I rely
on myself there's no way that I can't get by.
I'll be honest now, I can't abide
by the spoken law which every man denies.
I've been thinking and I guess I've died
but nothing's stopping me from coming back to life and getting

out of the woods tonight
getting wiser in spite of fright.
Ain't no vision that can't be changed,
ain't no conversation can't be rearranged
and I won't stop until I reach the sky...

For all the days that I'm checked out
full of certain doubt
there's ever more that I can flout instead.
Everything I can't undo
I've been wanting to.
Though I haven't been missing you,
it's just "the way that it should be."

I'm getting out of the woods tonight
I'm getting wiser and I know I'm right.
